Building Capacity to mitigate impacts of climate change
The Front for Climate Change (FCC) is a Community Based Organization registered under the Non-Governmental Registration Act of 2006 with registration number CBO/1989, and Business Registration No.80034991216070 Uganda Bureau of statistics.
Founded in 2017 by a group of local environmental and climate activists, FCC aims to build the capacity and resilience of local communities to mitigate the impacts of climate change. The organization values the intrinsic connection between nature and humanity, recognizing the earth as the source of all life. FCC strives to localize global environmental and climate change protocols contributing to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The Front for Climate Change is managed under a structured framework consisting of a Board of Directors, Volunteers, and a Secretariat led by the Executive Director, who reports directly to the Board.
We operate in the Rwenzori sub region, found in western Uganda. We work in five sub counties of Kisinga, Muhokya, Kyalhumba, Bugoye and Kasese Municipality in Kasese district.

Objectives
- To strengthen community efforts in tree seed multiplication
- To plant indigenous trees to restore degraded and fragile ecosystems through community led regeneration approaches such as agroforestry and assisted natural regeneration.
- To institutionalize environmental practices by engaging schools, churches and local governments in conservation education, tree growing, and land restoration initiatives
- To build the capacity of small holder farmers in sustainable agricultural practices, income generating activities such as beekeeping, kitchen gardens and clean energy innovations for sustainable environmental conservation
- To advance climate justice by amplifying the voices of those most affected by climate change and ensuring they are included in decision making processes, have access to resources for adaptation, resilience through established networks and collaborations at both local and national level
